BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Hokies will host the 2015 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships for the sixth time since joining the ACC as some of the nation’s best venture to Rector Field House to claim an ACC title.
Two ACC men’s teams, including the Hokies, are among the nation’s top 20 in the most recent USTFCCCA rankings with Virginia Tech moving up two spots this week to No. 8 and Florida State up three notches to No. 19.
Clemson currently holds the No. 15 spot in the women’s rankings, while Florida State is at No. 22 and Notre Dame leaped 21 spots this week to the No. 24 position following a strong showing in the Alex Wilson Invitational.
The meet starts on Thursday morning with the women’s pentathlon and the men’s heptathlon. The Hokies will have competitors competing on Thursday evening when Tomas Kruzliak looks to claim the weight throw title and the men’s and women’s distance medley relay teams compete to close out the night.
Friday will consist of the finish of the men’s heptathlon, preliminary events throughout the day, and the finals of the men’s and women’s long jump, the men’s and women’s high jump, the women’s pole vault and the 5000 meters.
Saturday will close the competition as all remaining running and field event finals will take place.
