BLACKSBURG, Va. – After impressive performances from the Virginia Tech men’s track & field team over the past few weeks, the squad has cracked the top 25 taking the No. 22 spot in the latest USTFCCCA Poll.
The Hokies’ latest national ranking is fueled by several top-10 performances nationally from members of the team. Chris Uhle, Manuel Ziegler and Tomas Kruzliak all rank in the top-10 nationally in their respective events.
Manuel Ziegler checks in at No. 3 nationally in the men’s triple jump. Ziegler’s mark of 53’0.75” (16.17m) also ranks first in the ACC. Chris Uhle takes the No. 5 spot in the men’s pole vault with a mark of 18’1.25” (5.52m) and also ranks first in the ACC in the same event. Kruzliak checks in at sixth in the weight throw nationally with a mark of 70’3.5” (21.42m). Kruzliak is tied for first in the ACC.
The Hokies are the top 25’s biggest climber, jumping 37 spots thanks to major points in the pole vault, triple jump, and weight throw.
The Hokies will be back in action this weekend at the Hilton Garden Invitational in Winston Salem, N.C.
