BLACKSBURG, Va. – Chris Uhle hit a personal best for the third time this season to propel him to a second-place finish in the men's pole vault on the final day of the Hokie Invitational at Rector Field House on Saturday afternoon.
Uhle’s mark of 18’1.25” (5.52m) keeps him in first in the ACC and moves him into third nationally based on marks set prior to this weekend’s meets. In every meet Uhle has competed in this season, he has continued to up his performance and has set a personal best every time. That mark puts Uhle in a tie second place all-time in the Virginia Tech school record books.
In the men’s long jump, David Prince moved into fourth all-time in the Virginia Tech record books after hitting a mark of 23’9” (7.24m). Based on results prior to this weekend’s meet, that mark moves Prince to fourth in the ACC.
Dante Price posted a sixth-place finish in the men’s 200-meter race. Price crossed the finish line in a time of 21.81 seconds.
Nora McKiver finished in 12th place in the women’s 200-meter race with a time of 24.79 seconds. McKiver’s 12th-place finish was in a field of 42 competitors.
Kristen Lee finished in seventh place in the women’s pole vault. Lee hit a height of 12’5.5” (3.80m).
Tech will be back in action next weekend when part of the team heads to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the Hilton Garden Invitational.
