BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Hokies will kickoff the 2015 home meet schedule tomorrow evening when they welcome 11 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams to the Virginia Tech Invitational at Rector Fieldhouse.
The Tech pole vaulters have already competed this season, as they opened things up last weekend at the Akron Pole Vault Convention. Chris Uhle earned a first-place finish and set a new career best of 17’7” (5.36m) en route to be named the ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week. On the women’s side, Kristen Lee finished in second place at the meet.
Three ACC schools (Clemson, NC State, Virginia) and one SEC school (South Carolina) will be in attendance at the meet including the No. 21 ranked Clemson women. In addition, North Carolina A&T, George Mason, UNC-Charlotte, St. Augustine’s, Charleston Southern, Radford, North Carolina Central and Coastal Carolina will have representation at the meet.
The first event starts tomorrow, Fri. Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. and will begin again on Saturday at 11 a.m. Live stats are available for the meet.
