GREENSBORO, N.C. – After a personal-record breaking performance at the Akron Pole Vault Convention, senior pole vaulter Chris Uhle was named the ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week as announced by the ACC office on Tuesday afternoon.
In just the first meet of the competitive season, Uhle’s offseason preparation paid off as he hit a new career high of 17’7” (5.36m). That mark currently ranks fifth in the nation and first in the ACC.
Uhle and the rest of the Hokies will be back in action this weekend in Tech’s first home meet of the year. The Virginia Tech Invitational will take place on Jan. 16-17 at Rector Fieldhouse.
