GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech pole vaulter Martina Schultze was named ACC Women’s Field Performer of the year while Virginia Tech thrower Tomas Kruzliak was named the ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Year after stellar outdoor track & field seasons as announced by the ACC office on Friday afternoon.
This season, Schultze earned first-team All-America honors after finishing with the bronze medal in the pole vault at the NCAA Championships with a mark of 14-3.25 (4.35m). Schultze is now a six-time All-American in the pole vault. The Uhingen, Germany, native won her fifth ACC pole vault championship (2012 Outdoor, 2013 Indoor, 2013 Outdoor, 2014 Indoor, 2014 Outdoor) with a mark of 14-4.25 (4.38m) in April’s ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
