AUSTIN, Texas - Competing in his first outdoor meet of the season, Chris Uhle finished in a tie for sixth place in the men's pole vault at the Texas Relays to kick off a competive weekend for Virginia Tech track & field.
Uhle used a mark of 17'0.75" (5.20m), just shy of his personal best, to claim his sixth-place spot in the "A" section. Also competing for the Hokies on the day was Jared Allison who finished in eight place in the "B" section with a mark of 16'6.75" (5.05m).
Martina Schultze, Kristen Lee and Torben Laidig will be competing tomorrow in their respective sections of the women's and men's pole vault at the Texas Relays. Also kicking things off tomorrow are several distance runners and sprinters competing in the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State.
