WINSTON SALEM, N.C. - With the weather dampening the Hokies' plans of traveling to the Iowa State Classic and the Air Force Collegiate Open, several members of the Virginia Tech track & field team participated in the UCS Invitational held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston Salem, N.C., on Saturday.

Several distance runners and jumpers are set to participate in the meet. With the weather causing several schools to adjust their plans, the Hokies find themselves competing against three other ACC schools. North Carolina, Duke and NC State are all sending additional athletes to the meet.

Due to the weather, all the events at this meet will be completed on Saturday instead of the meet's typical two-day format. The first event will begin at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the entirety of the day.
