BLACKSBURG, Va. - Martina Schultze continued her dominance in the women’s pole vault as she garnered yet another first-place finish in the final day of competition at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
On the women’s side, Martina Schultze ousted her competition in the women’s pole vault with a jump of 14’01.25” (4.30m) en route to a first place finish. Schultze’s nearest competitor was nearly half of a foot behind her. Freshman Kristen Lee finished in seventh overall in the women’s pole vault after posting a mark of 12’03.50” (3.75m).
For the men’s team, Chris Uhle finished fifth overall in the men’s pole vault after posting a personal best mark of 17’01.75” (5.23m).
In the men’s 4x400-meter race, the Hokies finished 10th out of 18 teams in the competition. Dante Price earned a 12th place finish in the men’s two hundred against a field of 31 competitors.
Tech continues their season next weekend when they play host for the Virginia Tech Hokie Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
