Hokies set to host Virginia Tech Invitational
Men's squad enters season ranked 19th

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech men’s and women’s track & field team will take to Rector Fieldhouse for their first of four home meets to kick off the 2014 season.

The men’s track & field team comes into the season ranked 19th in the USTFCCCA Preseason Poll while the women’s team enters the season unranked.

Tech returns three All-Americans from last year’s men’s squad. Darrell Wesh, Tihut Degfae and Tomas Kruzliak all return to the fold for the Hokies this season as they compete towards defending their ACC Title from last year’s indoor season. The women’s team returns one All-American from last year’s squad in pole-vaulter Martina Schultze.

The Hokies already competed in their first meet this season at the Appalachian Invitational. Only pole-vaulters competed in the meet. Freshman Kristen Lee led the way for the women with a mark of 13’00.25” (3.97m) while Chris Uhle led the way for the men with a mark of 17’00.75” (5.20m), his personal best, en route to first-place finishes.

Events are scheduled to begin on Friday at 5 p.m. and run through Saturday until 4 p.m. Live results will be available for the meet.
