Kadelka, Vester named to All-ACC Academic team
Pair honored for the first time

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore throwers Sarah Kadelka and Annjulie Vester were both named to the 2013 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Women’s Outdoor Track & Field team, as announced by the league office Thursday afternoon. This is the first of such honors for each student-athlete. Florida State’s Amanda Winslow was named the conference’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Both throwers made their debut during the indoor season and made their marks through the spring. Kadelka, a math major, finished fourth at the ACC Outdoor Championships in the javelin. The Graben-Neudorf, Germany native also used a 153-1 (46.65m) throw at the Florida relays in April to qualify for the NCAA East Prelims in Greensboro.

Vester, an international studies major, made it back-to-back hammer throw titles at the ACC Outdoor Championships in April when her first attempt of 202-1 (61.61m) was too much for the rest of the competition. A native of Homburg, Germany, Vester capped on an impressive season when she finished in 13th place at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
