PHILADELPHIA, Pa./RADFORD, Va. - With only four members of the Virginia Tech track & field team in action today, it was ACC champion Annjulie Vester who captured the team's lone win on the afternoon at the Highlander Invitational at Cupp Stadium.

The sophomore won the event by topping her personal record which was set last weekend at the ACC Championships. On her fifth throw, Vester moved closer to the record, but didn't surpass it until her final attempt, hitting a mark of 203-2 (61.93m).

In the men's hammer throw, Tomas Kruzliak found himself sandwiched between a pair of former Tech national champions as he finished in the second with a throw of 228-8 (69.69m) on his fourth attempt. His mark was more than seven meters behind 2012 Olympian Marcel Lomnicky and was just ahead of Alexander Ziegler.

On the final day of the 119th Penn Relays at Franklin Field, Jeff Artis-Gray dropped his preliminary time in today's 110-meter hurdle final as he finished in third at 13.92. Ronnie Black finished sixth in the high jump championship after clearing 6-11.5 (2.12m).

Next up for the Hokies is a rare midweek meet as they travel to the Lynchburg, Va., for the Liberty Twilight on Wednesday.
