Schultze named ACC Women's Performer of the Week
Pole vaulter ties school record to open outdoor season

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech sophomore Martina Schultze has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Performer of the Week along with Georgia Tech's Julienne McKee.

Competing in the pole vault at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, Schultze won her first competition of the outdoor season by eight inches and tied the school record mark of 14-1.25 (4.30m) she set a season ago. The distance by the Uhingen, Germany, native is currently tied for first nationally.

The Hokies will be back in the Sunshine State this weekend as they compete in the Florida State Relays in Tallahassee.
