EUGENE, Ore. – Virginia Tech track standout Keith Ricks advanced to the semifinals of the 200-meter dash on Friday while former student-athlete Queen Harrison was eliminated in the semifinals of the 400-meter hurdles at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials.
With a time of 20.74 in the 200m dash, Ricks advances to Saturday’s semifinal round. He placed 20th overall and finished fourth in heat two. Top time in the preliminary round was 20.17 by Wallace Spearmon Jr.
Harrison ran a time of 57.95 to finish 15th overall in the event and eighth in the second heat. The top time in the semifinal round was 54.41 by Lashinda Demus.
Ricks will compete at 6 p.m. PT in the semifinals on Saturday.
