KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Virginia Tech freshman Annjulie Vester competed in the women’s hammer throw as the Hokie track & field teams began competition at the 46th annual Sea Ray Relays, hosted by the University of Tennessee, at Tom Black Track on Thursday evening.
Vester finished 10th out of the 22 competitors in the hammer with a mark of 155-9 (47.47m). She fouled on her first two attempts before posting a legal throw on her third attempt. Connecticut’s Victoria Flowers won the event.
The Hokies will be in action tomorrow for day two of the Sea Ray Relays. Scheduled to compete Friday for Tech are the women’s pole vaulters at 1 p.m. and Matt Hoogland in the men’s open pole vault at 4:30 p.m.
