GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia Tech senior All-American Keith Ricks (Suffolk, Va.) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Track & Field Performer of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday.

On Saturday at the University of Central Florida Invitational, Ricks set three school records - in the 100 meters, 200 meters and as a member of the 4x100 meter relay.

Ricks ran Virginia Tech records of 10.22 in the 100 meters and 20.75 in the 200 meters, bettering the Tech standards of 10.24 and 20.78 held by André Davis since 1999. He finished runner-up to professional Travis Padgett in the 100 meters and fifth in the 200. His 100 meter time currently ranks No. 4 in Division I and his 200 meter time is tied for eighth.

He also anchored the second place and school record setting 4x100 meter relay as he teamed with senior Hasheem Halim, sophomore Darrell Wesh and junior Jonathan McCants to finish in 40.11, over fourth tenths of a second faster than the previous record of 40.56 set in 2010.

The Hokies will split the squad between three meets this weekend: Georgia Tech’s Yellow Jacket Invitational, NC State’s Raleigh Relays and the 85th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
