Ten headed to NCAAs
Six men and four women will represent the Hokies on the national stage

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- Ten Virginia Tech student-athletes have been named to the 2011 NCAA Championship field. Six men and four women will represent the Hokies this weekend at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. Events are set to begin Friday, March 11 at 11 a.m.

Here are Tech’s ten qualifiers, along with their season-best mark in their respective event and other accolades so far this season …

Hunter Hall - Pole Vault - 17-8 / 5.38m (All-ACC)

Michael Hammond - Mile Run - 3:58.41 (Automatic Qualifier, School Record)

Marcel Lomnicky - Weight Throw - 69-0 / 21.03m (All-ACC)

Stephan Munz - Pole Vault - 17-9 / 5.41m (ACC Champion)

Yavgeniy Olhovsky - Pole Vault - 17-11.25 / 5.47m

Kelly Phillips - Pole Vault - 14-1.25 / 4.30m (Automatic Qualifier, ACC Champion, School Record)

Alexander Ziegler - Weight Throw - 70-8 / 21.54m (Automatic Qualifier, ACC Champion)
