Fans, Help Vote Queen Harrison for the Bowerman Award
Fan Voting Runs Through Friday, August 20th

Fan voting opened Monday for the Bowerman, the nation’s top collegiate track & field award. Former Hokie standout Queen Harrison is one of three finalists for the women’s award. Fans can vote through Friday, August 20th and the fans’ decision will count as one full vote during the final balloting process.

Queen Harrison earned three NCAA titles during her senior campaign, becoming Virginia Tech’s first national champion in women’s track and field. She brought home a title in the 60-meter hurdles during the indoor season, and became the first athlete in NCAA history to win both the 100- and 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Harrison’s wind-aided 12.44 in the 100m hurdles at the 2010 ACC Championships is the all-time fastest mark in NCAA history under any conditions. During her time at Virginia Tech, Harrison was a six-time all-American and named ACC Female Track Performer of the year in 2009 and 2010.

The award is administered by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches association and is named in honor of former Oregon coach Bill Bowerman, who coached the Ducks from 1949-72 and was also the head track and field coach for the 1972 Olympics in Munich.
