Hokie throws units continue stellar Georgia Tech Invite
Misljenovic earns second in men's discus

ATLANTA, Ga. After the Hokies throws units put together a stellar day one at the Georgia Tech Invitational, senior Igor Misljenovic continued the Hokie throws dominance in the final day of the meet on Saturday in Atlanta, Ga.

Misljenovic, who placed second in the men’s shot put last night, took second on Saturday, and was the top collegiate finisher, in the discus. He tossed a mark of 174-08 in the showing. The runner-up finish is the Zagreb, Croatia’s third top-two effort in the event this season, after winning the discus at the Florida Relays and the ACC Outdoor Championships. The Hokie throws units also swept the hammer throws on Friday evening, as junior Dorotea Habazin and sophomore Marcel Lomnicky took first in the men’s and women’s event, respectively.

In other action, sophomore Ryan Witt clocked a 1:50.82 in the men’s 800-meters, just missing his personal best of 1:50.74, to finish eighth in the race overall. Sophomore Hasheem Halim earned 11th in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 48-10.

Tech will finish the weekend competing in the Aggie Classic tomorrow on the campus of North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C. Results will be available on hokiesports.com.
