BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Atlantic Coast Conference honored senior Queen Harrison as the conference’s Women’s Track and Field Performer of the Week for the fourth time this year on Tuesday.
Harrison won the 100-meter hurdles at the prestigious Penn Relays meet on Saturday, setting a school and meet record in the process. The Richmond, Va., native clocked a 12.61, breaking the former meet mark of 12.70, set in 2000, and her own school record of 12.65, set earlier this year at the Florida Relays.
This is the second time Harrison captured the conference accolade during the outdoor season, earning Performer of the Week recognition on April 6. The Hermitage High alum also collected the award twice during the indoor season and garnered ACC Women’s Outdoor Track MVP last week, after winning the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles at the ACC Outdoor Championships.
The Hokies will next compete in the Liberty Twilight on Thursday in Lynchburg, Va., and the Jessie Owens Classic on Friday and Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. Results will be available on hokiesports.com.
