Harrison named ACC Women's Track Performer of the Year

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Atlantic Coast Conference named senior Queen Harrison the conference’s Women’s Track Performer of the Year on Friday, after the Richmond, Va., native won the 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships on March 13.

Harrison compiled a record-breaking indoor season, capped by the 60-meter hurdle title, marking the first national crown for the Virginia Tech women’s track and field program. She became the first Hokie woman ever to break the eight-second mark in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking a school and meet record of 7.94 seconds en route to an ACC title in the event. She also broke the school record in the 400-meter dash during the season as well, timing in at 53.06 seconds in a first-place effort at the conference indoor meet.

The Hokie sprinters head to Miami this weekend for the Miami Invitational to open up the outdoor season. Results will be available on hokiesports.com following the conclusion of the meet.
