BLACKSBURG, Va. – Senior Igor Misljenovic earned ACC Men’s Track and Field Performer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday, for his efforts in the shot put at the VT Challenge on Feb. 20.
Misljenovic won the shot put at the meet with a personal-best toss of 60 feet, 1.25 inches, defeating the runner-up finisher by almost three feet. The Zagreb, Croatia native’s throw now ranks 21st in the nation and second in the ACC. He became the second winner of the weekly league award for the Tech men, after sophomore Keith Ricks won on Jan. 26, and the fifth Hokie winner overall. Sophomore Queen Harrison garnered the women’s performer of the week honor twice this season.
The Hokies host the ACC Track and Field Championships this weekend at the Rector Field House on Feb. 25-27. Results will be available on hokiesports.com.
