Responsibilities: Whittaker handles 3 main areas; Compliance, Admissions and the Student Assistance Fund. She reviews and approves all coaches recruiting travel, team travel expenses, team meals and official visits. Other tasks include making sure all team and recruiting activity follows the NCAA,  ACC and VT Athletics and University policies. She is the Admissions liaison for the Athletics department and handles admissions for all sports with the exception of Football. Also administers the Student Assistance Fund (SAF) for all of our student-athletes.

At Virginia Tech: This is Whittaker’s 4th year working in the Athletics Department. Previous to her current position, she worked directly with volleyball, wrestling and lacrosse. She began working as an Administrative Assistant for Olympic sports; volleyball, wrestling and lacrosse 2012-2014. Became the Director of Operations for Volleyball and Lacrosse 2014-2015.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Before joining VT fulltime Whittaker sold Real Estate in Blacksburg and the New River Valley for 10 years.

Education: Virginia Tech, B.A. Communication (2001)

Personal: Originally from Blacksburg, Va., Whittaker currently resides there with her husband Greg Whittaker, and two children Kaleigh and JT. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and attending VT sporting events, especially Hokie football games.
