Responsibilities: Steinberg is the LAP Coordinator/Learning Specialist that works with colleagues in Student Athlete Academic Support Services (SAASS) to meet the academic support needs of student athletes. Specifically, she works in conjunction with SAASS to design and implement academic coaching and support services for student athletes with disabilities and other learning differences.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2015

At Virginia Tech: Steinberg works one-on-one with student athletes to provide support in reading, test taking, study strategies, and life skills.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Clinical Assistant Professor in the College of Education at the University of Florida, Florida Department of Education, and a classroom teacher in Levy County Florida.

Education: University of Florida: Ph.D. in Special Education (2012), Master’s in Education (1990), Bachelors in Education (1989).

Personal: Grew up in Westbury, New York just outside of NYC. Married to husband Roger Steinberg for 26 years, the couple has two daughters (Victoria 23 & Sydney 19). Steinberg lives in Blacksburg with their Old English sheepdog Stella.
