Responsibilities:  As senior director of human resources, Linkous is responsible for all human resources transactions within the athletics department

At Virginia Tech: Linkous is responsible for the administration and management of human resources for the department of athletics. She consults and interprets policy for the executive staff and the senior management area seeking guidance on A/P faculty, classified/university staff, and wage employee human resources issues (faculty and staff recruitment, classification, compensation, employee relations, and employee development and performance management). She is the primary human resources liaison for the department regarding personnel matters with the Human Resources Department, including Equity, University Legal Counsel, and other areas of the university as needed.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Before joining the Hokies, Linkous worked for the Waste Policy Institute, a federal contracting firm, as their office manager and human resources specialist. Previously, she worked for Olver Incorporated, a Blacksburg engineering firm; and previous employment also included jobs at Virginia Tech in the President’s Office, the College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Employee Relations Office.

Of Note: Linkous began her career in athletics as former Athletics Director Dave Braine’s administrative assistant. She then worked for Jim Weaver, until her promotion to senior director of human resources for the department.
