Responsibilities: Evans assists with the design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for Virginia Tech’s Olympic sports. Her team responsibilities include women’s soccer, volleyball, softball, women’s tennis and men’s and women’s diving.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Evans worked as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant for four years before being hired full-time on the Virginia Tech strength and conditioning staff.
Education: Virginia Tech, 2005 (B.S. in human nutrition, food and exercise); Virginia Tech, 2007 (master’s of science in education); Virginia Tech, 2014 (doctoral in education).
Of Note: Evans played softball at Virginia Tech from 2002-05 and still holds the Tech record for career home runs (50), career RBIs (161), career slugging percentage (.609) and career total bases (408). She ranks second in career walks (121) and sixth in both career batting average (.316) and hits (212). She finished eighth in career runs scored (117) and 10th in both career games played (235) and career at-bats (670).
In 2017, Evans was one of five chosen to be inducted into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame. At the time, she became just the fourth softball player inducted.
Evans is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a certified strength and conditioning specialist. She also is certified in FMS (functional movement systems) and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
Personal: A native of Mansfield, Pa., Evans lives in Blacksburg.
