Tyler Dawson enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Virginia Tech softball program. With the Hokies, Dawson will help coach outfielders while also assisting in all facets of the program.

Before joining the softball staff, Tyler came to Virginia Tech as an intern in the strength and conditioning department where he continues to work with Olympic sports. Dawson is certified with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and the United States Weight Lifting Organization.

Dawson was a four-year two-sport athlete in football and baseball at Bridgewater College. He also interned with the strength and conditioning department while at Bridgewater where he assisted the field hockey, football and lacrosse programs.

Dawson graduated from Bridgewater in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science. An Amherst, Virginia native, Dawson is a graduate of Amherst County High School. He’s currently pursuing a Master’s degree in programming and design at Virginia Tech.
