Responsibilities: Castro produces features and content for HokieVision video screens in basketball, football and softball and for hokiesports.com. He acts as a video liaison for women’s basketball, men’s soccer and baseball. He produces videos for memorabilia areas, and he serves as the roving Lane Stadium camera for home football games.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2005

Prior to Virginia Tech: Castro worked as a director of video for Kairos Los Angeles, a church in Los Angeles, Calif. He also has worked as a digital compositor (Outsource); an executive producer (Virginia Tech Sports Today); and an anchor/reporter/producer for WSLS-TV out of Roanoke, Va.

Education: Virginia Tech, 1997 (B.A. in communications studies)

Personal: A native of Fredericksburg, Va., Castro and his wife, Stacie (VT, class of 1999) currently live in Christiansburg, Va. He is currently working on a master's degree from Tech. He enjoys movies, watching sports and traveling. He and his wife have visited all 50 states in the U.S. and five of the seven "Wonders of the World," and they have their goals set on seeing every continent.
