Former Virginia Tech women’s basketball player Britney Anderson returned to Blacksburg in June 2015 when she was named an assistant coach.
Anderson played for the Hokies from 2003-07, helping Tech to three NCAA Tournament appearances and a WNIT berth. During her career, Anderson shot an impressive 44.6 percent from the field and averaged 10.2 points during her senior campaign.
Anderson served as an assistant coach at Radford (2013-15), where her responsibilities included scheduling, community service and camp coordination while focusing on wing player development and assisting in recruiting and scouting. Under Anderson’s tutelage, the Highlanders were the Big South’s top three-point shooting team (.337) in 2014-15. In addition, Anderson helped develop two All-Big South honorees.
Anderson was also a standout high school player in the NRV, having led Blacksburg High School to the Virginia High School AA Girls’ Basketball State Championship during her senior year. After averaging 18.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game that season, Anderson was named Virginia’s Miss Basketball.
Before joining the staff at Radford, Anderson was a corporate recruiter for M.C. Dean Inc. in Dulles, Va., while also coaching girls’ basketball at Potomac Falls High School and in the AAU ranks with Team Unique u15, Matrix u15, PSPA u12/u16 for five years.
