Eberle tabbed to NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team

BLACKSBURG – Sophomore Carrie Eberle has been named a second-team NFCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection, the organization announced Thursday.

Eberle is the first Hokie since Courtney Liddle in 2011 to be named an All-ACC, academic all-aistrict and all-region performer in the same season. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, with an emphasis placed on performance against opponents ranked in the top 75 of the RPI.

Against RPI top 75 teams, Eberle posted a .209 opponent’s batting average, a 2.03 ERA, 10 complete games and two shutouts in the pitcher’s circle. She also led the team with three home runs.

A standout in the circle and at the plate for the Hokies in 2018, Eberle led her team with a 1.72 ERA and eight home runs. She also posted a .518 slugging percentage, a clip that ranked second, with 17 RBI, four doubles and a .264 batting average. Eberle racked up 187.0 innings and registered 12 wins, 21 complete games, 131 strikeouts and six shutouts. Opponent’s hit only .182 against her.
