Richardson named ACC Player of the week
The Louisa, Virginia native hit .667 and went 1-0 in two appearances in the circle for the Hokies

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Junior Aysha Richardson has been named ACC Player of the Week after hitting .667 (8-for-12) and allowing only three hits in 6.1 innings of work in the circle in a series victory over Georgia Tech last weekend for the Virginia Tech softball team.
Richardson registered three multi-hit games hitting out of the No. 2 spot in the lineup and crossed the plate three times while also driving in two runs. The Louisa, Virginia native currently leads the team with a .396 batting average and ranks second with 36 strikeouts in the circle.
In the series clincher on Saturday, Richardson went 3-for-4 with an RBI single and earned the win after surrendering only one hit in four innings pitched. She also scored the game’s first run on Friday after reaching on a double and she drove in the game-tying run in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single in the 6-5 extra innings victory.
The Hokies return to action with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Elon tomorrow at Tech Softball Park. Both games will be streamed live on WatchESPN via HokieVision LIVE and live stats will be available on HokieSports.com.
