Rector construction results in gameday changes at Tech Softball Park
Fans must enter through left field entrance for all home games this season
March 9, 2017
BLACKSBURG - Due to the construction of the Virginia Tech softball program’s new batting facility at Rector Fieldhouse, fans can expect a couple of slight changes when attending games at Tech Softball Park this season.
Here are three things you need to know:
- ENTERING THE STADIUM: For fans’ safety, due to ongoing construction running perpendicular with the right field line entrance, all patrons must go through the left field entrance for all games this season. Concessions, restrooms, the Thompson Field restrooms and all stadium seating can be accessed in the area of the left field entrance.
- BATHROOM ACCESS: The Thompson Field bathrooms and restrooms after the left field entrance point will be available for fans all season long. Due to construction, restrooms in Rector Fieldhouse will not be available.
- PARKING REMAINS THE SAME: The track and field lot, Chicken Hill lot and stadium lot are not impacted by construction. All lots are in walking distance to the left field entrance.
The Hokies open their 2017 home slate with No. 1 Florida State at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 10. With poor weather in the forecast, fans are advised to check HokieSports.com for any changes in the weekend schedule.
