GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State shortstop Renada Davis and Notre Dame third baseman Katey Haus have been named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Players of the Week, while Virginia Tech’s Kelly Heinz earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors.

Heinz tossed 14.2 innings of shutout ball in four appearances, leading the Hokies to a 4-0 week including a three-game sweep of Louisville. In the mid-week game, she allowed just two hits in 7.0 innings with 10 strikeouts in the win over Elon. In the opener against Louisville, she came on in relief to pick up the win and picked up the save in the final game of the series. For the week, Heinz went 2-0 with a save and didn’t allow a run. She gave up just six hits and struck out 19, as well.

Davis continued her dominance at the plate this week, reaching base in all five games to extend her program-best reached base safely streak to 27 games. She started the week with a 3-for-4 performance in game one of Wednesday’s doubleheader at Coastal Carolina with a home run, two runs scored and two runs batted in. In game two against the Chanticleers, she ripped a two-RBI single to left center and later scored to account for three of the Wolfpack’s seven runs. Davis had her biggest game of the week in game one of Friday’s twin bill with No. 8 Florida State. She was 3-for-4 in the contest with a grand slam that gave NC State a 5-4 lead at the time on the Seminoles. Davis was walked twice in game two against FSU and was 1-for-2 with a home run in the series finale. For the week, Davis compiled a batting average of .500 with 11 RBI, eight hits, six runs scored and three home runs. She also had a slugging percentage of 1.062 to go along with a .550 on-base percentage.

Haus had another stellar performance at the plate during a 4-0 Notre Dame week. Haus batted an even .500 (7-for-14) with two doubles, three home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored in 16 total plate appearances. The Irish third baseman slugged a team-high 1.286 for the week and added a .563 on-base percentage. Haus opened the week with a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate against Eastern Michigan, clubbing a two-run double, adding an RBI single and scoring one run in Notre Dame’s 10-2 rout of the Eagles in six innings. The Oceanside, California native kept the momentum rolling into the first game of the weekend against RV Pittsburgh, drilling a pair of home runs and tying the Panthers overall run total with five RBI in a game one win. Haus then reached base in three of her four plate appearances of Friday’s nightcap, hitting a two-run shot in the first inning for her third home run of the series. She would also chip in a double and another run scored in a 14-0 Notre Dame victory in five innings. Haus reached by way of a fielder’s choice in the fourth inning of Saturday’s series finale against Pittsburgh, ultimately scoring the tying run before Notre Dame rallied to sweep the Panthers.
