BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech softball team will wrap up the 2012 regular season with a doubleheader against the Liberty Flames Tuesday starting at 4 p.m. at the Tech Softball Park. All spectators are encouraged to come cheer on the Hokies in their favorite ‘80s outfit as Tuesday is ‘Totally Rad’ ‘80s Night. The two teams last met a year ago, where Tech downed the Lady Flames, 5-3 and 10-2, in a doubleheader in Lynchburg. Jasmin Harrell recorded both wins in the circle for the Hokies, allowing one run off of five hits and struck out four batters throughout the two games. Laura Wolff led the team with two runs, four hits and two RBIs, while Betty Rose followed with three runs, three hits and five RBIs.

Sophomore Katie Zavodny leads the squad with 34 hits and 22 runs, good for a .351 percentage. Senior Meredith Crisante leads the team in home runs with nine.

The Lady Flames rely on a two-pitcher rotation with sophomore Alyssa DiMartino and freshman Chandler Ball. DiMartino is 8-18 with a 4.51 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 167.2 innings, while charting 48 walks, 13 wild pitches and nine hit batters. Ball is 10-11 with a 5.09 ERA and 106 strikeouts in 148.2 innings with 93 walks.
