Saturday forecast forces changes to weekend schedules
Softball, Spring Festival & Spirit Clinic only events affected as of now

BLACKSBURG - Due to the forecast of rain throughout the afternoon, the Virginia Tech Athletics Department has announced several changes to events being held on campus Saturday. As of this time, the Spring Game has NOT been affected and is on as scheduled.

The softball team has moved its doubleheader up with the University of Virginia to a 10 a.m. start. The games were originally scheduled to start at noon. Sunday’s schedule has not been altered at this point. Additionally, Senior Day has been moved to tomorrow from Sunday in case of a rain out on Sunday. Admission is free.

The HokieBird Spring Festival has moved indoors to the Rector Field House. It will still be held from 1-3:30 p.m. and is free for all fans. The Spring Festival will contain many activities for children including inflatable games, interactive games with sponsors, face painting, a visit by the HokieBird and much more!

The Spirit Clinic, originally scheduled in Rector Field House, has been moved to Cassell Coliseum. Registration for the clinic will take place in the back gym of Cassell Coliseum and begin at 11:30 a.m. The clinic is from noon-3 p.m.

The Spring Game is still scheduled for a 4 p.m. start inside Lane Stadium. The event will be held even if it’s raining. The only thing that could affect it is thunder/lightning in the area. Be sure to follow @VT_Football and @VT_Softball on Twitter for updates, as well as hokiesports.com.
