Liddle named first team All-ACC
Freshman Anderson named to second team

ATLANTA - A pair of Virginia Tech softball players were honored for their play this year, being named all-conference Friday morning. Sophomore Courtney Liddle (first team) and freshman Dani Anderson (second team) were both named to the All-ACC team, as voted on by the coaches.

Liddle, from Haymarket, Va., made the move to first base this season and prospered in conference play, hitting .476 in ACC games only. For the season, she is hitting .366 with six home runs, 12 doubles and 43 RBI.

Anderson, a shortstop from Rio Linda, Calif., leads the team with a .377 batting average this season. She has eight doubles, a triple, 39 RBI and nine stolen bases.

Tech, the No. 5 seed in the ACC Championship, will play fourth-seeded Florida State today in the first round at 7:30 p.m. The game will be played at Georgia Tech’s Mewborn Field here in Atlanta.
