BLACKSBURG - Three Virginia Tech softball players were named to the ACC All-Tournament team, as announced Sunday after the championship game, which was won by Georgia Tech.
Freshman catcher Courtney Liddle, junior pitcher Kenzie Roark and junior outfielder Ashton Ward were among the 12 honored. Georgia Tech freshman pitcher Hope Rush was named tournament MVP.
Liddle from Haymarket, Virginia, hit .800 on the weekend with three walks while Ward, from Charlotte, North Carolina, hit .375 with two RBI, including the game winner in extra innings against Virginia in the first round. Roark, from Mount Juliet, Tennessee, pitched well all weekend, shutting out Virginia in eight innings in the opening round and then holding Florida State quiet for 6.1 innings.
The Hokies advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Championship for the fourth straight year, but finished the season with a 25-33 record.
