With the end of the 2009 season come and gone, sights are already set on the 2010 season for Virginia Tech softball. That season will be a special one as it marks the 15th year of the program.
Started in 1996 with a young coach and a group of anxious ballplayers not knowing what to expect, the program has evolved into a contender year-in and year-out, capped by an appearance in the Women’s College World Series a year ago.
Leading the way the entire time has been Scot Thomas, who recently passed the 500-win mark. The head ball coach is asking all former players for their help in filling out the questionnaire on the softball page on hokiesports.com. It won’t take long, but will go a long way in helping to update the alumnae database. With this being the 15th year of the program, several ideas are being tossed around and we want you to be in the loop.
So if you’re a former player, please take a few minutes to fill out the form linked here. And pass it along to former teammates you’re in touch with and have them pass it on. Our goal is to get all 90 letter winners and anyone else who donned the maroon and orange into a centralized database.
