BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech senior outfielder Jenna Rhodes has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III University Softball Team, as announced Thursday.

Rhodes was named to the first team for the district for the second year in a row. The Broadway, Va., native is fourth in the country in batting average (.479), first in hits (89) and second in stolen bases (49) heading into the postseason.

Rhodes will now move on to the national ballot. Voting for Academic All-America begins next week.

The ACC had three players on the first team and two on the second team.
