The Virginia Tech women’s tennis team (12-7, 3-7 ACC) hits the road to Tallahassee, Florida with a matchup against No. 18 Florida State. The contest is set for Friday, April 13th at 2 p.m. from Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Tech will then face No. 16 Miami on Sunday, April 15th at 11 a.m. from the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Florida. Virginia Tech (11-4, 4-1 ACC) is up to 13th in the standings this week after defeating Syracuse 15-14 in 2OT at the home last weekend. Senior Tristan McGinley took a feed from Julia Bolte and gathered herself to score the game winner 31 seconds into the second overtime period, vaulting Tech to 4-1 in the ACC standings with two regular season contests remaining. The win was the Hokies’ first over Syracuse in 10 tries and extends the program record to four league wins in a single campaign, as they match the program mark for wins in a season at 11. The Hokies (16-24, 2-12 ACC) split their two games this week against Liberty and Radford. Senior Caroline Schoenewald delivered the game-winning RBI double in extra innings as Tech topped Liberty, 1-0, at Tech Softball Park on Tuesday night. Tech fell to Radford 4-3 on Wednesday. Tennessee Relays (Knoxville, Tenn.)

The Hokies are traveling to just one meet this weekend, making the trek west to Knoxville, Tennessee. Tech will compete at the Tennessee Relays against numerous teams ranked inside the USTFCCCA Top 25. The Hokies are coming off three first-place finishes at the VertKlasse Meeting last weekend, as seniors Ama-Selina Tchume and Shanell Bur won event titles in the sprints. [Full Preview]

Stitch Intercollegiate at Macgregor Downs C.C. (Cary, N.C.)

The Virginia Tech men’s golf team heads to Cary, North Carolina for the Stitch Intercollegiate at Macgregor Downs C.C, after posting a three-round total of 11-over 875 and finished in 14th place at the 3M Augusta Invitational on Sunday. The two-day event was played at the par 72, 7,005-yard Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Tech shot a 300 in the Saturday morning round, but improved to a 2-under 286 in the afternoon round.
