Tech ranks 18th in Learfield Sports Directors' Cup winter standings
Strong winter performances bolster Hokies, who rank fourth among ACC schools

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech currently stands 18th in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup competition and fourth in the ACC in the latest rankings following the winter sports season. The Hokies have 364.5 total points, earning 233 points during the winter and 131.5 points in the fall. The men’s and women’s indoor track, wrestling and women’s swimming programs all earned points for Tech during the winter.
Only three ACC institutions presently rank higher than the Hokies, with North Carolina (No. 7; 465 points), UVA (No. 10; 424.5 points) and NC State (No. 13; 399.5 points) all ranking in the top 20.
Tech finished the 2015-16 academic year at No. 38 overall in the final standings with 578 points.
