BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech Office of Student-Athlete Development will host the 2016 Student-Athlete Career Jumpstart on Monday, Feb. 22. The event, sponsored by Carilion Clinic, N.B. Handy, and Aflac will be held in the Lane Stadium.

This exclusive event for juniors and seniors provides opportunities for Virginia Tech student-athletes to enhance career development skills while providing professional organizations with the opportunity to interact with potential candidates for internships and employment opportunities.

The evening’s schedule will consist of an employer panel, career preparation round table and networking reception to help prepare Virginia Tech student-athletes for future career fairs and interviews.

In addition to enhancing networking skills, student-athletes also will have the opportunity to have a professional headshot taken by Virginia Tech Athletics photographer Dave Knachel.

In addition, Carilion Clinic will sponsor a drawing where one male and one female student-athlete will win a business suit.
