The debut issue of Inside Hokie Sports, the athletics department's new in-house magazine that replaces Hokiesports the Newspaper, has been printed and mailed, and both subscribers and members of the Hokie Club should be receiving the new publication in the coming days.
For those of you with online subscriptions, the magazine has already been posted onto the hokiesports.com web site. The URL for the new magazine is http://inside.hokiesports.com. Your userid and password should work to access the site.
The plan with this new publication is to become more feature-oriented. It includes writing more features, expanding coverage of Olympic sports, and spotlighting former athletes who are excelling in the professional ranks in all sports. In addition, the plan includes diving into some areas that the traditional media tends to ignore - things like compliance, student life, marketing, etc.
The debut issue includes columns by Jimmy Robertson and Bill Roth, a lengthy feature on Sean Glennon, a preview of each position on the football team, previews on both the men's and women's soccer teams as well as the volleyball and cross country teams.
The second issue of Inside Hokie Sports will be coming out in mid-September.
