THE HOKIES (0-0, 0-0 ACC)
Virginia Tech is coming off a weekend at the Longhorn Invitational where the Hokies faced Vanderbilt and No. 8 Texas. Junior No. 68 Mitch Harper claimed three ranked wins, knocking off the nation’s No. 27, 37 and 50 in the three-day span. Jason Kros and George Cartledge both picked up a pair of wins each.

THE FLAMES (0-0, 0-0 Big South)
Liberty opens the spring season with the Hokies. The Flames return experience with the 2016 Big South Player of the Year, Sam Matheson as well as fellow senior Diego Castano. Chase Burton, a member of the 2017 Big South All-Conference first team, also returns for his sophomore campaign. He reached the quarterfinal round of ITA Atlantic Region during the fall tournament season.

THE AGGIES (0-1, 0-0 MEAC)
North Carolina A&T opened the season last weekend, falling 7-0 to the Phoenix. The Aggies are entering a tough second weekend, traveling to North Carolina on Thursday before making the trip to Blacksburg for the doubleheader. N.C. A&T is led by a trio of experienced seniors.

The Flames and Aggies will face each other in a neutral site match at BBTC on Friday evening at 6 p.m.

THE SERIES
Tech and Liberty have only met once previously in dual play with the Hokies picking up the win in 2005. The teams have faced each other regularly in the ITA Atlantic Regional tournament over the years.

This is the first meeting between the Hokies and Aggies.

Up Next: The Hokies travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama next weekend to face the Crimson Tide on Friday followed by a neutral site match against Penn State on Saturday.
