Four Hokies ranked in end-of-fall ITA standings
Harper, J. Kros and Ribeiro in singles; Harper/Korsgaard in doubles

BLACKSBURG – Four Hokies represent the Virginia Tech men’s tennis team in the final fall ITA standings, heading into the spring dual season. Mitch Harper, Jason Kros and Alex Ribeiro all earned singles rankings while Harper is ranked with Henrik Korsgaard in doubles.
Harper leads the way at 68th while Kros is ranked 80th and Ribeiro at 97th. Harper and Korsgaard are 14th in the doubles standings.
Harper and Ribeiro represented the Hokies at the ITA Fall National Championships. Harper qualified after claiming the title at the Milwaukee Classic where he won four consecutive matches to take home the trophy. Ribeiro was the runner-up at the ITA Atlantic Regional to earn a spot in the national event.
Kros enters the standings for the first time in his career. He compiled a 9-5 record this fall.
Harper and Korsgaard also paired up for the ITA Nationals, earning an at-large bid after entering the preseason standings at 31st. The pair had a win over Pacific’s Akroam El Sallaly and Bernardo Oliveira who are 34th in the rankings.
The Hokies will be back on the court at the University of Texas MLK Invite, Jan. 12-14.
