Harper, Korsgaard ranked in preseason ITA
Two Hokies ranked in both singles and doubles

BLACKSBURG – Junior Mitch Harper and sophomore Henrik Korsgaard are ranked in the ITA preseason standings as announced Tuesday by the organization.
Harper is ranked 122nd in singles after finishing last season with a 14-9 tally, including a 5-3 mark at the two. He picked up a win over UNC’s 84th-ranked player and tallied wins in matches against No. 50 Alabama, No. 4 UNC and No. 18 Georgia Tech.
Korsgaard comes in at 123rd in the standings after tallying an 8-10 record in duals. He picked up a win over Texas’ No. 36-ranked player and had singles wins in matches against No. 4 UNC, No. 18 Georgia Tech and No. 32 Florida State.
The pair enter the doubles field at 31st despite not appearing on the court together last season. Korsgaard had a solid freshman showing in doubles, earning an NCAA bid with then-senior teammate Jai Corbett. The pair finished the season ranked 29th in the ITA. Harper went 8-7 at the two last season, teaming up primarily with Alex Ribeiro.
Tech opened the fall season last weekend at the Southern Intercollegiates and will be back on the court starting Sept. 20-24 at the Milwaukee Classic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Sept. 22-24 at the Ivy Plus in Princeton, New Jersey.
