Tech claims three singles wins on day two of Seahawk Fall Invite

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Virginia Tech men’s tennis team claimed three wins in singles on the second day of the Seahawk Fall Invitational at the UNCW Tennis Courts in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Freddy Mesmer claimed a win on the second day of the tournament, defeating Richmond’s James Aronson with straight set scores of 6-2, 6-0. Jason Kros also had a straight set win, defeating UR’s Alex Hahn 6-4, 6-2.

George Cartledge battled Richmond’s Caleb Troy to three sets. Cartledge dropped the opening set 6-2, but rallied back to win the second 6-4. In the third Cartledge rolled to the 6-3 win.

Tech will wrap up competition in Wilmington on Sunday with matches starting at 9 a.m.
