FLUSHING, N.Y. – Junior Amerigo Contini fell to the seventh-ranked player on Friday during day two of the 2014 USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
Contini, ranked 14th nationally in singles, faced a familiar foe in seventh-ranked Brayden Schnur of UNC. Schnur won the match with scores of 6-3, 6-3 to advance into quarterfinals.
The indoor nationals concludes the Hokies’ slate for the fall. Tech will be back on the court in January at the USTA Futures tournament. The Hokies will host their first dual match on Jan. 17 when James Madison and Coastal Carolina come to Blacksburg for a doubleheader.
