Hokies wrap up Southern Intercollegiates
Tech will be back on the court next weekend at two events

ATHENS, Ga. – The Virginia Tech men’s tennis team wrapped up the 47th Annual Southern Intercollegiates on Sunday evening at the Dan Magill Tennis Center in Athens, Georgia.

Tech’s Aaron Gomez fell in the round of 16 of the Division 2 singles flight to Clemson’s Hampton Drake. The Tigers’ seeded player picked up the 6-3, 6-3 win.

In the consolation matches, Jai Corbett battled Vanderbilt’s Daniel Valent to three. After winning the first set, 6-3, Corbett fell 6-3 in the second. Valent edged Corbett in the final 10-8.

The Hokies will split up next weekend, traveling to two events with players going to Princeton, New Jersey for the Ivy Plus while others make the trip to Charlottesville, Virginia for the UVA Ranked+1.
