Tech doubles claim win on day two of ITA Nationals
Contini and Bjerrehus pick up a win during the second day of competition

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Virginia Tech’s 17th-ranked doubles team Amerigo Contini and Andreas Bjerrehus claimed a win on Friday during the second day of the 2013 ITA Indoor National Championships at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

The Hokies paired up to defeat UNC Wilmington’s 14th-ranked duo of Rafael Aita and Sam Williams, 8-6 in the consolation draw of the national doubles event.

Contini and Bjerrehus will be back on the court on Saturday at 9 a.m. against UCLA’s Marcos Giron and Mackenzie McDonald. The Bruins’ pair was initially seeded third in the main draw.
